Schooley , More Focused Adgroups is the best way to manage a Paid Ad Campaign, also not only it reduces the cost per click but also increases the quality score and finally increase the conversion rate as well.

I fully agree with you as I had first hand experience of the same when I recommended the same for my clients. Now lets see what is in store for the latest site http://www.retailord.com whose compaigning we are starting through Yahoo by the next month. This time taking break from Adwords to get first hand know how about conversion rate of yahoo ads. I will post the result for the same once I find it to be productive.
